The Story
In 2021, my son picked up a golf club for the first time as an 8th grader. It was a new adventure filled with laughter, frustration, and unforgettable moments. We didn’t know where this journey would lead, but we were having the time of our lives.
By 2022, his scores hovered in the high 90s, and he finished the season with a 17 handicap. Then came 2023, a pivotal year(High School Freshmen). My son set his sights on making the high school varsity golf team. But with his scores stuck in the high 90s, we knew something had to change .
We quickly realized that the endless tips and tricks from YouTube and social media were only adding to the confusion. Frustrated but determined, we decided to take control and create our own path to improvement. We crafted a structured plan, zeroing in on what truly mattered: swing checkpoints, short game essentials, purposeful practice, stats tracking, and course management. By eliminating the clutter and focusing on these core elements, my son transformed his game dramatically.
The results were astounding. In just one season, in 2023, he dropped his handicap from 17 to 6, an 11-stroke improvement. By the next year, in 2024, he had shaved off another 6 strokes, achieving the dream of becoming a scratch golfer.
